Bookplates

Do you ever use bookplates in your books? I've had various bookplates over the years, but sometimes find them difficult to use because I feel like I should save them for special books. Then, of course, when I have a special book, I hate to put a permanent bookplate in it. It's a vicious cycle that I'm sure would only be fed by these bookplates by Felix Doolittle that I just discovered. They're so pretty that they would call for a very special book indeed.

And just for fun, a different kind of bookplate (via here).

  1. I love both types of book plates :) I've never used them in my books, but I probably should. I've loaned out more books than I can count to friends who have never returned them. Perhaps adding a book plate to my books would give a gentle reminder to others to return them to their original home.

    1. Good point. Asking borrowers to return books can be a tricky task.

  2. I feel the same way about bookplates! I bought the cutest set (2 sets actually, so I wouldn't run out) probably 45 years ago... I never used them for the same two reasons! At least that kept me from buying more through the years. I still have them in my drawer...so cute! I love them! Want me to send them to you? Ha! You can keep them for another 40 years! (I do like the book plates, too...But would I use them???)
