I took a couple of days off from work this week to enjoy a longer Easter holiday. I'll be spending some of that time making some holiday treats, like the chocolate nests below. Yesterday I had a treat of another sort when I visited what is purportedly the largest used book sale on the East Coast. I'll give a full report of the treasures I found next week.
A sneak peek at the costumes from the new season of Mad Men.
Hilariously bad book covers.
Mindy Kaling has a new book in the works!
The second season of Call the Midwife premieres on PBS this Sunday.
And is anyone else disappointed by the news that Amazon bought Goodreads?
I can't wait to hear about what you got at the book sale.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up about Call the Midwife - I loved the first season and didn't know it was starting up again.
I am disappointed about the Amazon/Goodreads issue, but I haven't decided if I'm going to jump ship or not - what about you?
Have a lovely Easter weekend!
I don't think I'll jump ship...yet. I've gotten so used to logging my To Read list there that the thought of switching it over to some other system is pretty daunting. But I may chance my mind depending on how things go.
DeleteYour blog is now my source for late-breaking news! I hadn't heard about the goodreads/amazon acquisition. But i just read a few articles: http://www.forbes.com/sites/davidvinjamuri/2013/03/29/three-hidden-benefits-of-the-amazon-acquisition-of-goodreads/
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I've actually never been that impressed with the Goodreads-generated book recommendations for me. I wonder if there will be a noticeable change in them once Amazon has a hand in them.
Deletei didn't know that amazon bought goodreads. now they'll have more information about what we read. what else will happen?
ReplyDeleteyour chocolate nests are adorable! happy tuesday, n
